thing 16: gambang bambu
Gambang kayu is a xylophone used in gamelan orchestras. This thing isn’t really that much like a gambang. It’s made from rotten sticks (my favorite ingredient!), string, and a bamboo windchime that was on sale at Rite-Aid for $3.49. It sounds like this.

that sounds pretty close to me! Although I’ve only witnessed a gamelan performance once, in college, and I was seated waaaaaaaaay in the back. this is so cool. You’re so cool!!!!!!
hey ranjit, i’ve really been enjoying your posts! i’ve heard a gamelan too, a few times, and this does remincc me of it, it does sound great! a big cheer from me!
