roof lines
this is a drawing that i am making as a belated present. please comment:
which canvas shape do you like better and why? i like the ascending steps shape of the top canvas because it is interesting, but also dislike it because it lacks unity.

i like the unity of the second canvas shape, but dislike it because it is boring and conventional. also, looking for comments on how i can highlight the fact that i patched the bottom to the top.

the photograph stays in. i like it as a reference point and for adding a different color/resolution to the ink and colored pencils

The first canvas shape.
It seems to flow better and is more interesting to look at.
I like the top one better, too. You could have repeated the design with the windows of the small building. Making three of them ascend in the same manor in a different direction. As far, as drawing attention where the two are joined, how about some hinges. LOL hey, why not?
agreed. although the second displays an interesting sense of dislocation and violence that could be better served by putting the photo in the middle, at the nexus of all the conjoining lines.
