Day 5: Origami Boxes
Hello, what’s inside?
More boxes!
When I was a kid, my family hosted a Japanese exchange student, who made me a series of nested origami boxes that I kept for years. She was able to make them down to a tiny enough size that I could fit a rice grain in the smallest box!
I couldn’t accurately make any smaller than the size seen here, which would fit a quarter coin.

Very nice! I love the graduated sizes.
It’s beautiful! Did she tell you how to make a crane as well?
That’s very original and the papers you chose are beautiful!
I love how they are all nested - and the paper you used is gorgeous too!
Lovely - I have some boxes planned for later in the month, they’re fun to make:)
pretty! I really love the paper you used.
I can’t remember where, but i learned some variation of making these boxes using old greeting cards. Great for giving small gifts in!
Thank you, everyone!
@Principessa: Our exchange student didn’t tell me how to make a crane, but I have made ‘em! And actually, she didn’t show me how to make the nested boxes, I kinda figured it out by trial and error.
Awesome color combination for the nesting boxes… its great,… keep folding smiles
that is really pretty
