Art Trading Cards
For today I worked on 3 Valentine ATCs for a trade. We are trying to save money for a new geothermal heating and cooling system so I am really trying to use things I already have and NOT buy the cute valentine things I see in the stores right now. This one is just made from card stock and magazine pictures. One says “why I love” one says “inspiration” and one say “shared love”. Great fun to do and I love ATCs because they are small so it is a project I can complete in one sitting. With 2 boys at home that is not always an easy task. http://gentlegull.blogspot.com/2008/02/thing-day-3.html
I am all for using up what you have - there is so much out there that you can buy and buy and just collect way too much!
That said, I’ve been involved in swaps before and it takes a lot of work, time and effort - especially when you know that others are doing the same thing and they will see your work.
I think you could do more with your trading cards. I know a lot of it has to do with taste, but maybe you could look at some examples on web sites to get ideas for techniques that can enhance your cards. Maybe you could find more creative ways to cutting out the words, or the shapes…I don’t know.
I’m all for doing things that make you happy, but when you’re trading, you should really go the extra mile.
Good Luck!
