Martha Stewart No-Knit Scarf
UH! I’ve been counting down the days, making lists of projects, buying supplies and then I miss posting on the FIRST day! I wish I didn’t have a job and could dedicate myself fully to this project alone (hehe.) but I’ll just have to be more diligent in getting my posts up.
Here it is - DAY 1 (delayed). I found this project on MarthaStewart.com and thought it would be a good and easy way to get started, with the end result being something usable and fun. I’ll post when complete, but I know for the next one, I’ll add more strands - this is a little thinner than I had hoped for. It will be a good gift.

Ooo, I have had this project bookmarked for months (or, it feels like months, anyway). How narrow was it? Did you like the end result?
Looks good! And thanks for sharing the link, I may have to steal it, lol.
Dislexia - It’s about 4 - 5 inches. In the pic on the Martha Stewart website, it looks thicker, but it may just be the yarn they used. I heard people calling it “twinkle” yarn (whatever that is), but I just used bulky wool.
Hi! It’s the girl with the flowers.
I should say, it took me way more than an hour to make the 4 flowers. And it is tricky as all get out! The first one did take me about an hour then the rest went much quicker. I started getting all my cut outs prepared so I could just assemble at one time.
In terms of tips, firstly you mentioned glue everywhere. I didn’t have that problem but I tried to use a tiny bit of glue for each petal. I found using the floral tape in excess helped a lot. I didn’t use enough for the center the first time around and it kept wanting to slip off. Also, after the small petals, I wrapped it in floral tape even though it didn’t say to to give it some structure and support. I did make a bit of a gluey mess of myself but not enough to get stuck to the flower and destroy it.
I hope this helps - they were fun and I am hitting Paper Source today to check out other kits and book binding supplies. BTW, I love the no knit scarf and may have to try that one as well. So much inspiration on this blog.
Take care.
