day one - perspective sketch

i finished this before the day was done, but haven’t had a chance to upload it until now. this was supposed to be a sketch for another drawing i was going to do later, but once i got out my straight edge i just sort of went nuts and put in a lot more detail than i first intended. this always seems to happen to me. i asked my roommate (who is also participating in the thing-a-day) “should i draw in the windows?” to which, after three hours of working on her own thing next to me, she replied “NO.” so, here you go.

  • So, do you still plan to use this as a study for more detailed drawing? I like the negative space created at the top of the of the drawing.

  • maybe? not sure. the more detailed drawing is supposed to be done on 11×14 paper in oil pastels… i forsee disaster with all these straight lines if i attempt that. we’ll see.
