adding to my felt stash
Today was a great day to be inside. I love watching the snow drifts form into icing on my neighbor’s roof, while standing inside my warm and cozy kitchen. I even managed a little time for felting at the kitchen sink until my little lamprey figured out that she wasn’t attached to my hip, as per usual. Then she stood between my legs and howled until I relented and picked her up. Fortunately it is still possible to make felt with one hand, as long as the lamprey isn’t struggling.
Each of these felt squares (about 7″ - 8″ wide) is made of dyed merino wool roving and took about 15 minutes to complete using wet-felting. The smaller colorful one was more experimental, made with end scraps from the purple and green rovings. Eventually they will be cut up to make needle-felted coasters and wall hangings.

Very nice! I especially like the one second from the left. I’ve never tried needle felting, but one of these days…
I enjoyed seeing your felted samples today. I have done needle felting but have never tried wet felting. I might get to that this month.
How did you add your picture to your post? I had trouble with that.

To link my photo, I first uploaded it to a directory on my website. Then I used the “img” tag under the Code tab (when writing your post, you can select either the Visual or Code tab) and I entered the http address for my image file. If you don’t have online hosting space for your photos, I think you can upload small photos directly to the thing-a-day website using the upload function (located under the Save and Publish buttons in admin). Good luck!
What pretty colors!! I would love to see what you do with them … future Thing-a-Day project? Thanks for the food link, I will check it out. I’m a quinoa fan myself! How do you prepare your quinoa?
Thanks for the quick response. I will try to upload again today with a new project:)

Ps I hope we see what you do with the felt squares.
The topmost one is my fave. Felting is on my to-learn list, and your creations are inspirational. Can’t wait to see what you do with these pieces.

Lovely! I can’t wait to see what you make with these.
