Another intro (+ any other Canadians here?)
Found this site via a friend who pointed me here. Looks like a great idea!
Earlier today, before hearing about this project, I was brainstorming goals for the next six months and I realized that a number of the items on the list were about getting the creative juices flowing and many others were about establishing good habits. This project seems to fit well with those goals.
First project: make a go-to list of things to do for days I just don’t feel inspired. Second: try to borrow a video camera for the month1.
Any other participants in Canada? In Toronto? If so, post in comments and show your maple leaf-y pride! I’m an ex-pat American in Toronto, myself. (Heck, if you’re a US ex-pat living elsewhere–Canada or not–post in comments, too!) Still in mid-process with the immigration thing, which is why I have plenty of time to do this project. (No work permit yet.)
A-a-a-a-a-and, jumping on that list thing, now! First item: make thing2 for my husband, J–and do it in time for Valentine’s Day. (Did I mention I’m a terrible procrastinator, btw? No? Well, I was gonna, but I got busy….)
1Ya know, just in case. Maybe one of my things’ll be a sex tape? Just kidding. Really..
2 Not saying exactly what yet; it’s a surprise for him, see….

Not Canadian… but does about 10 years.., London, New Market & the Ottawa river, count? I got kicked out after working with out a work visa
So I really wish you all the best with yours!!!
Good luck with your things a day… I’ve got to build my boyfriend his gift as well… only, I’m sorta low on ideas right now… hoping to be inspired!
Sure, that counts! Sorry to hear you had to leave. I am expecting this whole immigration/work pemit process to be fairly arduous and the temptation to just work without one has been great, but I’ve manage to resist so far.
Good luck on your T-A-D, too. For V-Day I am starting (I can say this, b/c I know he won’t read comments now that this post is a few days old) with a handmade Valentine card and going from there. We’re talking about just keeping it simple and going out to dinner and not doing big gifts this year. If that ends up being the case, the card will be it. If he decides he’s going to get me something, I am not sure what I am gonna make him yet. I guess I’ll knit that bridge when (and if) I come to it!
Fella canadian here.
Montreal, Quebec.
I found a link to this on another website.
And I too am a horrible procrastinator so this will be a good motivation/a pain in the butt!
good luck!
hi! I’m also an American living in the GTA with my husband (Canadian) and our two kids (3 and 1). I know what you mean about the immigration process…it’s going on two years for me. Frustrating as I keep having to reapply for those visitor’s visas.
I am also quite the procrastinator when it comes to finishing projects (and sending in immigration forms), and having kids hasn’t helped. But hopefully joining this group will motivate me to plan my time a little better and get some of my ideas out of my head. Good luck with your projects!
Canadian, Toronto, also on here - I’ll root for ya if ya root for me!
Let’s do this!
Look forward to seeing your ideas! I’m from Toronto as well. Actually, I don’t live there but I sure as hell commute there every day.
Wow, lots of Torontonians doing TAD! Mebbe we could have a post-project decompression get-together here in early March.
And hello to our Canadian friend in Montreal!
