Another Londoner

Hey all!  I’m really psyched for this — so much that I made two things today as I just couldn’t wait to get started!  I’m going to be doing some beading, card making, ATC backgrounds, wet and needle felting, loom knitting, yarn painting, trying out new food recipes and maybe more as I have at least another half a dozen crafts that I dabble with.  I’m also going to try to to go to craft get togethers (mostly knitting as that’s  what we have a lot of here) at least twice a week during this period.

I’m having two problems so far: one is that I have no idea how to deal with themes.  My stuff is so diverse that I can’t really imagine having a particular theme on a weekly basis.  How is everyone else handling this?

The second is photography: London weather sucks this time of year so the chances of seeing the sun are pretty slim.  I’m going to try to build a cheap lightbox/light tent this weekend, but  I’m still a bit worried that I won’t be able to get good photographs every single day.

On the bright side, I’m going out tomorrow on a big excursion to stock up on supplies so I don’t have to worry about it during February.   Three cheers for powershopping! :)  I’m disabled and sometimes can’t leave the bed let alone the apartment so I want to be sure that I have all of my supplies on hand so that I don’t have t forgo a project for lack of a little thing.

Anyway, if you want to know more about me and my crafting, you can check out my blog at http://thesickchick.wordpress.com

Happy crafting!

Salutations

Hello everyone,

I’m very excited, this is my first thing-a-day..um..thing and I really needed a reason to focus on doing creative things.  I plan on working in as many media as I can during this time, so expect a lot of craziness.  Also, I’m trying to get a few of my friends to join in for the extra support.  I love this idea and I’m glad, so far, that I’m a part of it.

Hello from Atlanta!

I just heard about Thing-a-Day via Twitter, and decided to join. I’m doing Blog365, and anything that helps me have something to blog about each day is a bonus :-)

I blog primarily at Enemy of Entropy, but I also post at Fibrant Living and Academy Caritas from time to time. I’m moving my other sites, Heartsong Handicrafts and Cynthia Armistead over to WordPress now, so it’s possible that I’ll post there as well. When I do post elsewhere, though, I usually put a pointer on my main site.

I’m a homeschooling mom to a very creative 17-year-old, who I hope to get signed up here. I’m also a college student, writer/blogger, podcaster, and fledgling needlework designer. I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!

Hi from the Faerie Forests of Arkansas!

What a wonderful idea!! I do some kind of art work everyday, I can’t imagine not…even if it is just to continue working on something bit by bit. I sculpt, paint, draw, ATC, sew and I am willing to try any medium, craft at least once.

This looks like fun

Maybe even motivation to keep cleaning out my craft room and using up all these little bits and pieces of stuff.

Introduction

Hello,

Looking forward to 29 days of challenging myself. My usual medium is (digital) collage, but I’d like this to be an opportunity to try new stuff. So have no idea what and how I’m gonna do yet, but that’s part of the excitement…

See you soon!

Oh dear

What have I gotten myself into? I am actually kind of scared to be doing this. I am an artist who works full time and have been having a lot of trouble making time for artwork. I also spend a lot of time knitting - or thinking about knitting, to be more precise - but haven’t really found a way to integrate what I see as my “craft” interests with my artwork. So I am hoping to use this process as a way to explore that. Maybe. Anyway, hello to all!

Here is a link to my art-related blog, which is basically a “temporary” place for me to show my work to the world: http://katyhiggins.blogspot.com/

Perhaps working on my actual website will be part of February…

Hello from Arizona!

I found the link to Thing-a-Day on Craftzine, and I’m really excited about it!  I need something to get me moving and creating.  I’m new to word press too, so hopefully I won’t screw up my posts! LOL!

Can’t wait for the 1st!

Another intro (+ any other Canadians here?)

Found this site via a friend who pointed me here. Looks like a great idea!

Earlier today, before hearing about this project, I was brainstorming goals for the next six months and I realized that a number of the items on the list were about getting the creative juices flowing and many others were about establishing good habits. This project seems to fit well with those goals.

First project: make a go-to list of things to do for days I just don’t feel inspired. Second: try to borrow a video camera for the month1.

Any other participants in Canada? In Toronto? If so, post in comments and show your maple leaf-y pride! I’m an ex-pat American in Toronto, myself. (Heck, if you’re a US ex-pat living elsewhere–Canada or not–post in comments, too!) Still in mid-process with the immigration thing, which is why I have plenty of time to do this project. (No work permit yet.)

A-a-a-a-a-and, jumping on that list thing, now! First item: make thing2 for my husband, J–and do it in time for Valentine’s Day. (Did I mention I’m a terrible procrastinator, btw? No? Well, I was gonna, but I got busy….)

1Ya know, just in case. Maybe one of my things’ll be a sex tape? Just kidding. Really..

2 Not saying exactly what yet; it’s a surprise for him, see….
