excited to see you all again!
and meet all new creative spirits.
hi everybody!
The official round of thing-a-day is done. Thank you all for your incredible work and see you next year!
just wanted to say a quick hi (and see if i could get my name officially on the side banner). i’m really psyched about this- and need to start thinking asap about what projects i want to do. we had a little teaser MLK craft day yesterday and i made a bunch of birthday cards…. but so much else to do- yay february!
This sounds really fun! I’m really up for the challenge as I’ve been severely creatively blocked as of late. Woohoo.
xo
Why not?
I have a lot of creative energy and rarely do much with it, especially outside of work. Sounds like fun!
to get going on this! I’m just so stuck in a rut and this will force me to get going. I’m more excited to see what everyone else does - I’m sure it will inspire me to try new things! I guess I should start a list of things… Really looking forward to it.
This should make me to put staff out of my head and in to the world.
I can’t wait to start.
Creativity is force of life, and I want to use it.
World, here I come.
Hey everyone!
This will be my first try on thing-a-day.com! Looking forward to see lots of creativity everyday! I hope to learn a lot with everybody’s ideas and to feel inspired by them.
I have a nice growing list of ideas of my own. A few things have even been delayed so that I can turn them into good projects for a uninspired February day… Let’s see how this goes!
Oh so little to do and so much time in our hands! Wait. Reverse that!
Have fun everyone!*
I intend to shock and awe the world one day at a time; one thing at a time. Yes, I will shock and awe you with my thing… a day… not much different from today, prepared to be rocked and socked and have your socks rocked right off. Yes, I want to take your socks off. In fact, why am I wearing your socks to being with? That cannot be hygenic. It’s no wonder I intend to remove them. God knows what kind of germs your socks must be carrying. I think I’m going to go soak my feet in disinfectant now… See you in February.
I am a lapsed crafter (mostly decoupage) seeking inspiration. I have an amazingly awesome 8 month old and very little time. I have been trying to think of some projects. I can’t wait to fingerpaint with the wee one… but what else? 29 fingerpaintings?
I’m a knitter/crocheter/writer/drawer/painter/baker/play-doh sculpter.
My friend and I signed up for the first time this year! I’m looking forward to working in different themes and having someone to keep me accountable. This will be fun!
Hi folks!
I created a flickr group for Thing-a-Day 2008. Please join if you have a flickr account! In addition to posting photos on thing-a-day.com, you can add them to the flickr group. It’s a good way to spread the word, no?
Also, if you’re posting your photos on flickr, you can tag them with thingaday2008 to improve searchibility.
I look forward to seeing what everyone will come up with next month! Whee!
The list of things to do in my mind is on going… I’m hoping this will remind me to play, be silly & maybe loosen up a bit everyday. We’ll be going for the NON-perfectionist approach, and see how long I can actually last… with out suddenly needing to make it a “perfect” project, and take up way to much time… or fall out from under me. Sigh.. fingers crossed. The goal is to do a bit of mixed media collage every day. (Figure that’ll leave it nice & open to interpretation) see everyone there!!
I’ve been in need of something to spark my creativity again. Having a 18 month old little boy zaps most of my time away, but I figured….I can give 20 minutes to myself each day, right? Besides, he will probably have fun helping me with my creations and we will start a pattern of bringing creativity into our daily lives.
I’m getting a list together ahead of time so I have no excuses!
Okay, this could be a mistake, but hopefully it will be just be fun. My husband says, “oh, right, like you don’t have enough stuff to do?” But anything that motivates and gets me in a community of like-minded crafters is a positive thing, I think. Too many nights I let my tiredness or inability to settle on one thing take control, and I waste time trying to even decide what to do. Hopefully this challenge will cause me to be more spontaneous, tackle more things to just experiment and play around.
I can’t wait to get started, and to see what everyone has up their sleeves!
Hey everyone! I’m excited to be joining this year. I wasn’t around last year, but it’s nice to be able to participate now!
In addition to allowing my own creative juices to flow, I am also going to be doing this with my two daughters (8 and 5) and they can’t wait to make lots of great things either.
Can’t wait for February to start and I better get going on creating a plan to see me through the month!
Hi all,
Nice to join you in our synchronized creativity glut. I’m thinking of using this as a motivation to write more, and delve into new genres. Also, to take the sort of photographs where I go out hunting purposefully. And doing social performances wherein I provide something of interest or downright hilarity to my hapless witnesses. These are things geared more toward creating products of the mind and pure aesthetic of memory, not towards cluttering my house with meat-space arty-facts. Though, things are still disorganized. My main aims are to create things that 1) develop my meta-crafts (process art) 2) are sharable with my friends via virtual forii and 3) can be appreciated by strangers who know nothing of my particular flavour of delicious metaphorical expression.
Cheers!
This sounds fun. I mean, it’s not like I have any other projects on.
Last year, I wrote a cookbook: Cooking With Booze, about, y’know, cooking and booze. So I might do a lot of cooking. But I’d quite like to do some other things to, and try to ramp them up to one a day.
Looking forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with.
