is this thing 0n?
The official round of thing-a-day is done. Thank you all for your incredible work and see you next year!
I signed up because I don’t think I can do this. I guess we’ll see, come tomorrow …and the day after that… and etc.
I predict sketches in ink? Maybe?
i’ve got several things i’m going to do each day this month. actually 4 are things i will do, and the other are 2 things I won’t. 4 things i’ll do: 1 - i’ll take a photo that traces back to my day (the most make-a-thing-like thing) 2 - i’ll keep a food journal 3 - i’ll do 29 situps/pushups 4 - I’ll take my vitamins 2 things i wont: 1 - I won’t drink (booze) 2 - I’ll stay away from white flour and sugar I’m not sure this is how people are supposed to use this space, but that’s my plan. here goes… -jlb

TADPr is Thing-A-Day Psyching Rock. In the last few hours I’m hitting Urge Overkill and Rev Ho.
Hey all!
I used to write a lot of poetry and my creative medium was writing but that has since dropped off, so I will try to do some creative writing each day, totally the opposite of my current usual mode of expression which is all visual.
Looking forward to seeing all of the creative energy in one place.

p.s. I just noticed the irony of my endeavor considering the title of my photo blog.
So I am freaking out a bit. Will I be actually able to come up with 29 things to do, have time everyday to do it AND figure out how to post it???
But I am feeling brave, or at least there is a brave bit deep down inside pushing me to do this. Or it could be that I called my friend, told her my worries, and she bribed me with a prize if I can do it. [Something she’s making] And I can’t pass that up!
I am a singer, painter, writer, crafty inventor who is passionate about helping activists stay open and renewed and developing a beautiful, powerful Disability community.
So, I am off to make a list of ideas…and I wish us all good luck!!!
I was trying to come up with a system for making sure I actually get this done. I kept worrying about getting home from work, and not having any idea what I would make, or having any preparation done at all. So I came up with a system: I’ll have one idea ‘on deck’, that’s what I’m going to do the next day, and four ideas will be warming up. I don’t know if all of the warming up ideas will get used, but the next day’s on deck idea will definitely come from the warming up queue.
On Deck (for Feb 1):
Fried Vegetarian Spring Rolls
I’ve got a little party to attend tomorrow. I have loved egg rolls/spring rolls since I was a kid, and I’ve always wanted to make them, and I never have. Tomorrow this is all going to change. If I can find them (99% likely) I’m going to try to get ‘egg roll’ skins, not ’spring roll’ ones. As Wikipedia and my dining experience tell me, egg rolls are bigger and have more delicious puffiness than spring rolls, and are generally better. The recipe I’m using comes from Savoring Appetizers, which I got at half-priced books. It has a photo of every recipe in the entire book, thusly earning it status as food porn. The plan is to make the rolls, fry one, photograph it, eat it, blog about it, and then fry the rest and go to the party.

Many thanks to MissCripChick for letting me know about this. I hope we can support each other to make it through the month. What an awesome way to promote creativity!
Actually I am hoping that this will help to discipline me, and to kick start me back on my novel.
I have begun a list to try to come up in advance with some of the projects I’ve been meaning to do but not yet started in hopes that it will help me to be prepared and organized.
Well, just a few hours away from day one. Let’s go!
Whee! Here we go! Although I have some ideas for projects, I’ve decided to try to wing it as much as possible in order to seek inspiration in the moments of each day. Have fun everyone! I’m looking forward to sharing this experience with y’all.
I’m gonna try to draw a pic every day and post it. Probably with artrage, but maybe some handdrawn stuff.
I don’t draw enough anymore.
Kind of like unfinished business. I started thinking about what I could make, what I ’should’ make, and not a lot of things occurred to me right away. But then, I started thinking about things that I wanted to make when I was kid that I never did or never could. I can remember a lot of them, so why not start there? I don’t know that I’ll make anything verbatim off the list, but I’m sure I’ll make related things!
I just received my brand new digital SLR camera. I’m a photophile who’s never owned a digital camera in my life.
This might be by ‘thing-a-day’
but who knows. i might make aluminum foil rings if I’m inspired.
looking forward to seeing everyones stuuuf!
